IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity):

A unique 15-digit number that identifies a mobile device on a mobile network. IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. IMEI numbers make sure a thief won’t be able to use a stolen device. A device’s IMEI number can also be found in the settings app of the device.

Make sure to write down your IMEI number and keep it safe. This way, you have the information handy to provide your mobile device carrier or the police should your device be lost or stolen. Make sure to keep your IMEI number private and not share it with anyone.

To report a mobile device as stolen, contact your mobile service provider and the police.
