Phishing

When scammers use email or text messages to trick you into providing your personally identifiable information. Fraudulent emails or texts from a bank may provide a link to “confirm your details” or “secure your account,” or “check an overpayment”, etc. The link provided is to a website set up by hackers. When you enter your personal information, they steal it and attempt to access your online accounts using that information. It’s vital not to click on links or respond to messages like these. Call your service provider for assistance if in doubt.
