As soon as a worm breaches a computer system, it begins propagating. Worms in an email address book will spread to all contacts in that address book, making them capable of infecting millions of computers very quickly. Some worms have penetrated worldwide computer networks and slowed down the entire internet. Worms are generally spread through operating system vulnerabilities. The best thing you can do to avoid computer worms is to keep your operating systems on all devices updated.
