This is a quick gesture. Using one finger, quickly touch the screen, then lift your finger. Apply the same amount of pressure you would if you were tapping the end of your nose.
When you tap, try not to move your finger, which could be confused as a swipe or drag. Just tap the screen, then lift your finger.
Tap is used to select an object on the screen, open an app, click on a webpage link, activate a button, etc.

This gesture is as it sounds. You touch an element on the screen and keep holding your finger on it until something happens.
This gesture will often initiate a different action that you think. When available, it will reveal a contextual menu.
There is a minimum period your finger must press on the screen for this gesture to be recognized. The default is half a second. If you’re having trouble performing a long press, you can change the setting:
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Haptic Touch
Try selecting Fast or Slow touch duration. You can use the handy interactive area to test each setting.
